Angel (USA) visited Italy for a two-week outreach with the OM team there. She testifies how she discovered the importance of sharing her own personal testimony and being available to be used by God.
Our time in Italy was full of laughter, smiles and joy! We (Team Italia) were very grateful to make our hands and feet available! We have learned a lot, like being present, having patience, coming out of our shell to help others, gratitude and authority. In these two weeks, we have had so many opportunities to share God’s love and to be blessed ourselves. We have met so many people we now consider family.
The first night we attended church, I was invited to share my testimony. I was so nervous! As I shared my testimony, I looked the church members in the eyes and saw a lot of emotions. I am glad to have shared my testimony, because it opened doors for God to move in others. At first, I didn’t realize the importance of this, but now I know. Afterwards, some of the congregation came up to me and told me they related to me and how God pulled me out of a dark place in my life.
I met a woman named Flavia that night during a time of prayer for the church. She came to me in tears. I’ll be honest, I panicked a little bit, but I was open because that’s what Jesus would do. I asked her name and then began to pray. I wasn’t sure what she needed prayer for, so I took the opportunity, let the Holy Spirit guide me and prayed for everything. As I prayed, we were both crying. It was such an experience full of the Holy Spirit. She looked me in the eye and kept thanking me and blessing me. And I did the same with her! Then she gave me a big hug.
God has done a lot in these two weeks. I am so happy that He has put together such an open team, willing to venture into Italy to share the gospel. I praise our Lord for what He has done, for what He is doing and for what He will do!
