Nestled on the northern coast of South America, Guyana is a land of breathtaking rainforests, rich biodiversity and a culture known for its warmth and hospitality. It’s a place where God’s creation shines vividly, and where His love is ready to be shared in powerful ways.

With approximately 57% of the population identifying as Christian, Guyana has a strong spiritual foundation. Yet, as Jesus said in Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” There is great potential for spiritual renewal, especially among young people and in communities that have yet to hear the gospel. With over 30% of the population practicing Hinduism, the opportunity to share the hope of Christ across cultural and religious lines is both urgent and exciting.

OM in Guyana is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. We partner with local churches to mobilize believers for mission, equipping them to serve both locally and globally through short- and long-term outreaches.

Under the leadership of Shelley Fortune, OM in Guyana is creating pathways for discipleship through initiatives like TeenStreet, which empowers youth to grow in faith and leadership. We also extend Christ’s compassion to the special needs community and engage in creative evangelism and practical service.

As Psalm 96:3 declares, “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples.” We welcome mission teams from around the world to join us in making a lasting impact in Guyana.
