As the civil war deepened, hunger began to spread across Sudan. Almost no food was reaching the cities. Prices skyrocketed. Families went hungry. A group of neighbors—including several Muslims—gathered for safety in one Christian woman’s home. They were relatively safe from violence, but she was almost out of food. She only had a small amount of flour left. Barely enough for even a single meal.
That’s when her faith shined out. She turned to her Muslim friend and said, “Let us pray. Our God will multiply the food.”
As she cooked the meal, something amazing happened: she kept scooping flour from the container, and it didn’t run out. She kept cooking. The flour kept coming. Everyone in the house ate until they were satisfied!
Her Muslim friend was astonished. She asked, “I only have a little flour at home. How can I pray like you?” The Christian woman replied, “Believe in your heart and pray. I prayed to God in the name of Jesus.” Amazed by what she witnessed, the Muslim woman shared the story in her neighborhood. Many were astonished.
She went home and prayed as her Christian friend had taught her. To her joy, her flour multiplied too. She then told another neighbor, who also had very little—just a small amount of lentils. That woman prayed, and again, God performed a miracle: the lentils kept replenishing as she cooked.
The two neighbors decided to follow Jesus. Then they shared their story with their husbands. Devout Muslims, the men struggled to believe, but they couldn’t deny that Jesus was truly powerful. Frontline workers shared that, as of now, we don’t know if the men have become Christians yet. Please pray for them!
